I received an ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this book. It was rough and gritty. Lucas is a hitman for his mafia family, destined to take over one day, but he seems dissatisfied. He never saw himself settling down. He grew up on the streets of Detroit, but things are changing. He roars through Monroe Michigan and nearly runs over Dahlia who gives him a piece of her mind. He can't decide if he likes her or she's a nuisance. She's pretty clever though and is starting to figure things out. Dahlia ran away with her daughter from an abusive ex who just happens to be the scum Lucas is trailing that owes his familia money!! Fate? Dahlia is intrigued by Lucas and vice versa. The chemistry is hot. Will they get together. Stay together. Have an HEA?? Read the book!!

I just finished this book and had to tell yall it is a truly amaizing book with a great storyline. a woman takes her daughter and leaves her abusive, druggy ex on the other side of the country, escaping to a small hole in the wall town just to meet the one man after her husband who changes her whole world.
I received this ARC for an honest review. I liked the book. Lucas is your typical bad boy mafia guy. And Delilah is the girl running from her past. She has two men in her life, both ruthless, dominate, and possessive. However only one will get her in the end and win her heart. But not before a little trouble, comes her way. Totally a great story.
Expect the unexpected. Lukas is part of the Luciotti family and he takes his job seriously. A chance meeting with Dahlia and he cannot resist her appeal despite how she claims she's not interested. This story has some unique turns/twists keeping you engaged in the story to see what happens to these two characters. Will they overcome their pasts and their commitment to others?

Lucas the son of a Mafia Don comes to a small town to collect money owed to his family. Kind of an enforcer but not really content with his role in the family. Meets Dahlia, a single mom working in a small restaurant and coffee shop. Her ex boyfriend, father of her daughter, Cade is the one who cheated the family of the money which Lucas has vowed to get back. Good chemistry developed between Lucas and Dahlia
The concept was good. I felt like it was written by a high school student for English class, with some steamy scenes in it. I guess I'm just spoiled by the the mob book I've read.

This is about my 3rd or 4th Kara Hart book. I have to say that I'm enjoying them. The men aren't hardcore bad boys but they're rough around the edges & they have a heart. When they fall, they fall hard. The women are strong, single mothers, kicking butt & taking names.
Dahlia got away from drugs, an abusive boyfriend & took her daughter to safety far away from the insanity. Living the best way she can & taking care of Jen, her 6 yr old daughter. She found a small town in the middle of nowhere Illinois that was far from him.
Lucas is a made man in the mob. Suppose you could call him an Enforcer, he made sure to collect what was owed & erased those at the end of their road. Meeting Dahlia was the best thing he ever did. It shows him he can feel.
Dahlia is attracted even though she doesn't want to be. He's in her diner every day messing with her head & body. She just wants to care for Jen & live life. Lucas just can't leave her alone. 😁💜💜

My copy had two extra stories, Hail Mary Baby & Rust, a Courage MC story. I've already read Hail Mary & loved it (see my review). Wasn't loving Rust, I'll have to come back to it.

Lucas may be the Dons son and has done some evil things but inside is a kind and caring man, sigh. Psst did i mentioned he's HOT.

Sweet Dahilea went through so much with that jerk Cade, he will make you mad, he riled my feathers.
The only good out of it is their daughter Jen.

Monroe, MI is where Lucas and Daleia will meet, lol. That town is only 30 miles from where I live so it was a shock to see that was where the story unfolds. Too cool.

It has Danger, Fear, Longing and Loving. Intense and Terrifying.
A grab you and don't let go kind of read. And so much more.

Recommend mature audiences 18+.

I really enjoyed this book. Initially, I thought that I wasn't going to be interested in reading it. However, once the characters were cemented...I found the plot to be intriguing and funny at times. Okay, a lot of times!!Lucas is a man who you don't want to get on his bad side or his hit list. Poor Dahlia simply needed a break in life and just as Jen said, Lucas was their Knight in shining armor. I sure would have liked to have known more about Carmelo...what happened with him and just what exactly did they do with Cade. Maybe(hint, hint) there will be a part two, because surely Lucas is not totally done...that lifestyle will follow him to the grave. Bravo author!!!!👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽😊😊😊
